Horror Picture Show Adds Another

The fine folks of the Little Rock Film Festival just keep adding films to the Little Rock Horror Picture Show so I think I'll start posting a blog for each individual movie with some info, a link to their announcement and hopefully video. Check the label after the post for quick links to all that's posted between now and February 17th, when you can find me hanging around the festival the entire time as I've already gotten my pass.

The latest announcement is Sennentuntschi: Curse of the Alps. Apparently it comes to us by way of Austria and played at Fantastic Fest in Austin, Texas this past fall. I checked IMDB.com and was a bit surprised to see that this had a very nice rating of 6.7 after 632 votes. That's pretty solid for a horror movie there.

Good Review from Twitch

Synopsis: In 1975 in a remote mountain village, a wild woman suddenly appears. She has travelled from Höhenalp, where Alpine herdsmen do unimaginable things to attract women. It’s an affliction that the village would have rather kept hidden, it’s the beginning of a nightmare filled with madness, hypocrisy, abuse and demonism that threatens to drag the whole village into the abyss. The film is written and directed by Michael Steiner and stars Roxane Mesquida, Nicholas Ofczarek and Andrea Zogg.

"Film 4's FrightFest introduces Switzerland's first true horror export as Switzerland's folklore and legend arrives on to the big screen with the movie Sennentuntschi: Curse of the Alps. Premiere Scene's Claire and Anthony Bueno caught up director Michael Steiner who tells us the importance of bringing myths to a new generation so they don't get lost, waiting long hours for the right weather and how the filmmakers had to avoid getting stoned ... literally!"

"An introduction to the film by the director, followed by a brief Q&A."

Passes are now on sale for the Little Rock Horror Picture Show at Ticket Leap. The Little Rock Horror Picture Show is February 17-19th at Market Street Cinema!
